One of my goals when I began drawing portraits was to become a good enough artist that people would want to have my work displayed in their house. Slowly but surely, I’ve been creating commission pieces for friends and family, allowing me to start reach this goal!
Here are a few of those pieces…
Seb – This drawing was made as a gift to a family friend to congratulate them on the arrival of their son earlier this year. Think this has to be one of the most photogenic babies I’ve ever seen!
Foroogh Fadai – This is a portrait of my friend’s mum on her wedding day.
Osaro (left) and Eghosa (right) Ewansiha-Vlachavas – Taken at Osaro’s graduation
Noah – This portrait is of a family friend’s son. He’s the youngest of two boys in the family and I have also drawn his brother! I created this piece during lockdown which was a nice distraction from everything that was going on. Who wouldn’t love that face?!
Jill Woodley – This piece is particularly sentimental. Drawn as a gift for a friend’s father, the woman in the portrait is the late Jill Woodley, the mother of my friend. This has been one of my favourite commissions so far. The photo Jemma, Jill’s daughter, gave me to draw is so full of life and happiness I was worried I wouldn’t be able to portray this in the portrait. I’m very happy with the end result however and grateful that Jemma allowed me the opportunity to create such an exuberant piece of such a beautiful woman.
